In previous roles across industries ranging from media and journalism, art-tech, venture capital and digital real estate, I have built, led and managed teams in audience engagement, marketing and communications at global multinational corporations, high-growth startups and digital news organizations, and helped build industry-leading digital products.
I write op-eds for Moneycontrol and Newslaundry and report/write #longreads for leading publications globally. I have worked as a Long Form and Enterprise writer at Mint, The Indian Express and Hindustan Times and reported on emerging issues in political economy, business, politics and policy, inequality, caste and capitalism, culture, and true crime with a focus on South Asia.
I studied Economic History and International Political Economy at the London School of Economics and Political Science focusing on Trade and Globalisation and Business / Economic History of South & Southeast Asia, and Print, Broadcast and New Media Journalism at Asian College of Journalism, Chennai before embarking on a PhD in Economic History at QUCEH, Belfast.
I am committed to mentoring young startups and young women and school children in India’s state funded schools to help them become rising leaders of tomorrow. I mentor art-tech startup The Bomway and am associated with The Bhagini Project, a not-for-profit Indian women’s collective led by students at Cambridge University, to mentor grad school applicants.
I am passionate about my work, like to build things and learn everyday, and would go travelling any day when not working or writing or daydreaming. I love talking to strangers, being out in the field for research or reportage, and lazy Sundays.
